Among red deer, fallow deer, mouflons, and the local pulse, the trip turns into an authentic encounter with nature. On approximately 13 hectares of fenced area, you can observe the animals up close, and the homestead also offers an ethnological and hunting museum, a covered social area, a children’s playground, and areas for sports activities.
Route description: From Hotel Vita, follow the signs for Lokovina. Continue past the castle Kačji grad to the deer enclosure.
In season, the homestead is open on Friday afternoons and on Saturdays and Sundays. For other times, prior notice is required.

HONEY AND BEES
Only a short, slightly steeper walk from the centre of Dobrna leads to the beekeeping farm, where you can learn about the life of bees and the work of a beekeeper. Various types of homemade honey, propolis, wax, royal jelly, and other bee products are available, and tasting is also possible by prior arrangement.
Route description: From the centre, cross the bridge, turn left, and climb the ascending asphalt road to the sign.

HOMEMADE
At the farm Pri Minki, homeliness gets a flavour. Homemade aperitifs, herbal teas, juices, cured meat products, spreads, winter stores, and seasonal vegetables are available, but the most recognisable is the selection of desserts. Minka’s strudel, gibanica, štruklji, potica, and pastries are prepared upon prior order.
Route description: From Hotel Vita, follow the road towards the hills Paški Kozjak and at the junction, take the middle road.
The shop and service operate by arrangement. On Saturday mornings, the delicacies are also available at the market in the centre of Dobrna.

PICNICS AND GROUPS
On the slopes of the hills of Paški Kozjak, the Marovšek Farm offers space for picnics, meetings, and events in a natural rural environment. An old farmhouse cellar, a renovated stable, and a blacksmith’s shop create an authentic backdrop, while the covered area accommodates about a hundred people. The surroundings are also suitable for walks and longer hikes.
Route description: You can climb to the farm via Ana’s Trail from the Ledenica cave or arrive by the local road.

CULTURAL HERITAGE
At the Šumej homestead, one of the rare examples of architectural and living heritage in the vicinity of Dobrna has been preserved. The smoke kitchen with its smoke section, small window, and wooden hinges transports the visitor about three hundred years into the past and shows how modestly and thoughtfully the rural life once took place.
Route description: Follow the path past the Dobrnica manor house and the Ledenica cave to the Marovšek Farm, where a tour can be arranged.
A tour is possible by prior arrangement and is usually coordinated through the Marovšek Farm.
